GastroChef — Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your use of the GastroChef mobile application ("GastroChef," the "App," "we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, accessing, purchasing through, or using GastroChef, you agree to these Terms.

1. Apple App Store License

GastroChef is distributed through Apple's App Store.

Your license to use GastroChef is subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement ("Standard EULA"), unless another valid license agreement applies.

These GastroChef Terms provide additional terms specific to GastroChef, including its food and recipe features, health-related educational content, generated content, symptom-tracking features, and GastroChef Premium subscriptions.

If these Terms conflict with Apple's Standard EULA regarding your license to use the App, Apple's Standard EULA controls.

2. About GastroChef

GastroChef is a food, recipe, and wellness-support application intended to help people make gentler food choices and organize information related to sensitive-stomach eating.

Features may include:

• ingredient-based recipe generation;
• a curated recipe catalog;
• educational information about gastritis, reflux, sensitive stomachs, foods, and related topics;
• symptom tracking;
• saved recipes and Favorites;
• meal-planning features;
• a 7-Day Program;
• shopping-list features; and
• optional GastroChef Premium features.

GastroChef is intended for general educational, informational, and meal-planning purposes.

3. GastroChef Is Not Medical Care

GastroChef is not a medical provider and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or individualized medical advice.

Information provided by GastroChef is not intended to:

• diagnose gastritis, reflux, GERD, ulcers, food allergies, food intolerances, or any other medical condition;
• determine the cause of your symptoms;
• replace care from a physician, registered dietitian, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare professional;
• prescribe medication or tell you to begin, stop, reduce, or change medication;
• guarantee that a particular food, recipe, diet, supplement, or lifestyle choice is safe or appropriate for you; or
• guarantee that a medical condition will improve, heal, or be cured.

Digestive symptoms can have many causes and may require professional evaluation.

Do not delay seeking professional medical care because of information provided in GastroChef.

If you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency or serious symptoms, seek appropriate emergency medical care.

4. Individual Food Tolerance Varies

Foods that are comfortable for one person may trigger symptoms in another person.

Labels such as "gentle," "low-acid," "sensitive-stomach friendly," or similar wording describe general characteristics or the intended purpose of GastroChef's recommendations. They do not guarantee that a food or recipe will be safe, symptom-free, or appropriate for every user.

You are responsible for deciding whether a food, ingredient, or recipe is appropriate for your individual circumstances.

5. Allergies, Intolerances, and Food Safety

GastroChef is not an allergy-detection or food-safety system.

You should independently verify all ingredients before preparing or consuming a recipe, particularly if you or another person has:

• a food allergy;
• a food intolerance;
• celiac disease;
• a medically prescribed diet;
• medication-related dietary restrictions; or
• another condition requiring specific food avoidance.

Generated or catalog recipes may contain mistakes, omissions, unsuitable substitutions, or ingredients that are inappropriate for a particular person.

Always check food packaging, ingredient labels, preparation methods, storage requirements, cooking temperatures, and cross-contamination risks yourself.

Do not rely on GastroChef as your sole source of food-safety information.

6. Generated Recipe Content

On supported devices, GastroChef may use on-device artificial-intelligence technology to generate recipe content.

Generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, or unsuitable for your circumstances.

GastroChef may also provide recipes from a curated local recipe catalog.

Regardless of how a recipe is produced, you remain responsible for reviewing the recipe and deciding whether to prepare or consume it.

Generated recipes and suggestions should not be interpreted as medical, nutritional, or professional advice.

7. Educational Information and References

GastroChef may provide educational information about digestive health, ingredients, food acidity, gastritis, reflux, lifestyle considerations, and related subjects.

Where appropriate, GastroChef may provide references to scientific publications, books, government resources, or other external sources.

The inclusion of a source does not mean that every statement in that source has been independently verified by GastroChef, nor does it mean that research findings apply to every individual.

Scientific and medical knowledge changes over time. GastroChef may update, revise, or remove educational content as new information becomes available.

8. Symptom Tracking

GastroChef may allow you to record symptoms or other wellness-related information.

Symptom tracking is intended to help you observe and organize your own information. It is not a diagnostic tool and should not be used to determine whether you have a particular disease or medical condition.

Patterns or changes you observe may be useful to discuss with a qualified healthcare professional.

9. Your Information and Content

You may enter information into GastroChef, including ingredients, symptom information, and other content needed to use App features.

You are responsible for the information you choose to enter.

GastroChef does not claim ownership of your original information merely because you enter or store it in the App.

Please avoid entering another person's private or health-related information unless you have an appropriate reason and right to do so.

Our handling of information is described in the GastroChef Privacy Policy.

10. Free Features

GastroChef may provide certain features without payment.

At the time these Terms became effective, the free experience may include a limited number of successful custom recipe generations and access to selected other features.

Limits and the features included in the free version may change as GastroChef evolves. Current limits and available features will be communicated through the App where applicable.

Previously saved local information is not automatically deleted merely because your Premium status changes.

11. GastroChef Premium

GastroChef may offer optional paid access through GastroChef Premium.

Premium may include features such as:

• unlimited custom recipe generation;
• access to the complete 7-Day Program;
• weekly shopping-list sharing; and
• additional Premium functionality introduced in the future.

The exact features included with Premium are displayed in the App and may evolve over time.

Subscription options

GastroChef Premium may be offered through monthly, yearly, promotional, introductory, or other subscription options made available through Apple's App Store.

The exact price, currency, billing period, and any applicable offer are shown by Apple before you authorize a purchase.

Automatic renewal

GastroChef Premium subscriptions are auto-renewable unless canceled.

Payment is charged through your Apple Account.

Unless canceled, your subscription automatically renews for another subscription period according to the terms displayed by Apple at the time of purchase.

You can manage or cancel your subscription using Apple's subscription-management features.

Deleting GastroChef does not, by itself, cancel an active Apple subscription.

Changes between plans

Where Apple permits it, you may change between available GastroChef Premium subscription options through Apple's subscription-management system.

Apple determines the timing and billing treatment of upgrades, downgrades, crossgrades, renewals, and related subscription changes.

Restoring purchases

GastroChef includes a Restore Purchases feature.

Premium access is restored only when Apple provides a valid, current entitlement associated with your Apple Account.

Refunds

Purchases and billing are processed by Apple.

Refund requests and refund eligibility are governed by Apple's applicable policies and procedures.

GastroChef does not receive or control your payment-card information.

12. Availability and Changes

We may add, modify, improve, discontinue, or replace features as GastroChef develops.

We do not guarantee that every feature, recipe, educational article, AI capability, or Premium feature will remain available indefinitely or on every device.

Some functionality may depend on:

• your iOS version;
• your device capabilities;
• Apple services;
• StoreKit availability;
• operating-system features; or
• other technologies outside our control.

We will not intentionally remove paid access in a manner that violates applicable consumer-protection law or Apple's requirements.

13. Third-Party Services and Links

GastroChef may provide access to Apple services or links to third-party websites, publications, research, or resources.

Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy practices.

We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, security, policies, or practices of third-party services or websites.

14. Intellectual Property

Except for content owned by users or third parties, GastroChef and its original software, interface, branding, design, text, organization, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may use GastroChef for your personal lawful use in accordance with these Terms and Apple's applicable license terms.

You may not unlawfully copy, redistribute, reverse engineer, exploit, or misrepresent GastroChef or its proprietary content.

15. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use GastroChef in a way that:

• violates applicable law;
• interferes with or damages the App;
• attempts to circumvent purchase or entitlement controls;
• infringes the rights of another person;
• falsely represents affiliation with GastroChef; or
• uses the App for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GastroChef and its content are provided "as is" and "as available."

We do not guarantee that:

• recipes will always be accurate or suitable;
• a particular food will not cause symptoms;
• nutritional, pH, health, or educational information will always be complete or error-free;
• GastroChef will meet every user's individual dietary or medical needs; or
• the App will always operate without interruption or error.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GastroChef and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from use of or inability to use the App.

You remain responsible for food selection, ingredient verification, preparation, food safety, allergy precautions, and healthcare decisions.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

18. Suspension or Termination

You may stop using GastroChef at any time.

We may restrict access to the App where reasonably necessary to protect the App, users, legal rights, or the integrity of our services, subject to applicable law and Apple's requirements.

Termination of App use does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Subscription cancellation must be completed through Apple's subscription-management system.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as GastroChef changes or as legal, regulatory, technical, or business requirements evolve.

When we make changes, we will publish the updated Terms on this page and update the effective or "last updated" date.
